
XYZ Coordinate Notation
Moves and positions on the Tri-D board are
described using an XYZ coordinate notation.
Starting with 000 for White King's Rook and
ending with 954 for Black Queen's Rook.
The first number (X), represents the Rank
starting at 0 for White's first rank and ending at 9 for Black's first
rank.
The second number (Y), represents the File
starting at 0 for Kings' rooks and ending at 5 for Queens' rooks.
The third number (Z), represents the Levels
starting at 0 for the starting position of White's attack boards and ending
at 6 for inverted attack boards under Black's main board.

White Black
P110-211 - Pawn blocks Check R914xP413 - Rook takes Pawn
O-O Castle with King's Rook P725-523 - Pawn advances to protect the Rook

X numbers are placed above the board and YZ
combinations are placed conveniently around the board to assist in move
and position notations.
